Design Matters

And remember, we can talk about making a difference, we can make a difference, or we can do both.
— Debbie Millman

Hello design lovers,

Do you know about Design Matters, the internet talk radio show? Very often I am listening this podcast when I am working, designing, drawing, cleaning etc. I find it very inspiring and extremely educative and I have the chance to hear the opinions, thoughts, details about the processes, inspiration sources and personal stories of the designers that are invited by Debbie Millman in her show. The talks are stimulating and provocative, and revolves around the design discipline, going from graphic-design, to illustration, furniture design, branding, architecture, anthropology, business and design industry.

Having the chance to get a closer "look" in the personal and professional stories of well known designers that made an impact in the world it is really priceless and brings me a lot of joy and inspiration. Some interesting talks that I listened recently are with Massimo Vignelli, Marion Deuchars, Louise Fili, Marian Bantjes, Maggie Macnab just to mention a few.

Design Matters is now the anchor show on Design Observer’s media channel, and the show is produced at the specially built podcast studio located at the Masters in Branding program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. There are nearly 200 episodes recorded by now and the show was awarded the People’s Choice Cooper Hewitt National Design Award

Named “one of the most influential designers working today” by Graphic Design USA, Debbie Millman is also an author, educator, brand strategist and host of the podcast Design Matters. Debbie is President of Design at Sterling Brands, where she has worked with over 200 of the world’s largest brands.
